Red anemones
Blanche Odin
1865-1957
Watercolor 29 X 39, back in its original frame 38 X 49 cm green and gold with a glass “museum” by transparent cleats,
If Redouté was the greatest watercolorist of flowers of the first half of the 19th century, Blanche Odin is the greatest of the first half of the 20th century. If, of course, it is her roses that have assured so well deserved her reputation, she excelled in representations of all kinds of flowers as can be seen in the excellent works of Monique Pujo-Monfran or visiting the museum Salies de Bagneres de Bigorre.
Here, the artist seduces us by offering us this bouquet of red anemones, this flower which is beautiful from the button to the faded, arranged in a green ceramic vase. The back gives us a lot of information by the labels that are stuck: from the hand of Artist One informs us that it was destined for the exhibition of Saint-Etienne and gives the address of the Vieux-Colombier where Blanche had a workshop for a long time, as well as that of Robinot, the packer of the Beaux-Arts while than that of the CH framer. HONEL tells us he sells old style frames !
Certificate of authenticity by Monique Pujo-Monfran, expert of the Artist.
