Ex-voto Church
Maurice Rocher
1918-1995
Oil on canvas 73 X 60 cm, unframed, with inscriptions on the back: 464 in pencil and EX-VOTO 1313 in chalk. A priori, this work is part of the series of Churches whose essential was created between 1970 and 1972
Great is the difficulty of photographing a work by Maurice Rocher born in Evron in 1918 and disappeared in 1995. How to photography these two thicknesses of crushed and bubbling paint in two dimensions, to give the variety of hues that hang more or less the following light the orientation of it? In short, I gave up and the images that follow will give you a idea of what is a painting of this beautiful expressionist artist present in many museums and in more churches by the Another facet of his art: the stained glass window. Traces of drips on the back, along the bottom cross and the right as if varnish had flowed, but it does not not appear on the painting, tiny cracks in the dark down, back canvas on the bottom of the bottom a little damaged.
