The frozen waterfall
Friedrich Albin Koko-Mikoletzky
1887 – 1981
Oil on canvas 100 X 70 cm, mounted in an Art-Deco frame with a blackened slope and frieze of Greek figures approximately 108 X 78 cm.
Those interested in design will not have missed the extraordinary “Frozen Cascade” wall lamp by Carlo Nason from the Muscari Gallery in Pau.
Here is its pictorial counterpart !
Considered by some to be Austrian by others Czech, the borders being fluctuating at that time, he died in Vienna after having left an absolutely dichotomous work: sometimes they are snow landscapes of a freezing realism, sometimes orientalist scenes in middle of the desert !
We fell in love with this frozen waterfall in green and blue hues, powerfully decorative which, thanks to a masterful restoration by Atelier Lafouresse, has regained its original appearance.
Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or phone.
In partnership with the Galerie Lafouresse, we are specialists in paintings on the Basque Country, the Landes and the Arcachon Basin.
