Drying The Laundry At The Ciboure Recollets
The subject may seem trivial, but it is highly graphic and the dry color cloths are admirably served by the impressionist touch of Louis Floutier.
This Basque hangs his clothes to dry in a corner of the Convent of Recollets Ciboure near Saint-Jean de Luz.
The little touch a little virgulé, characteristic of the best period of Floutier, the contrasts of this beautiful sunny day, the accuracy of the composition framing the architecture without locking it up make it an emblematic work of the Basque Country which took place under the number 1272 in the Catalog Raisonné of Mary-Anne Prunet.
