Exit of the mass in the countryside
oil on canvas 65 X 87 cm mounted on a panel of isorel and mounted in a frame wand more recent golden 67 X 89 cm
This painting was bought directly from Bauchant and his wife by the uncle of the current owner on the advice of a mutual friend: Le Corbusier !
Indeed, this one was one of the first amateurs of the self-taught poetry André Bauchant (1873-1958), which later had to reach an international recognition, as much in the United States as in Japan or in Switzerland, promoted by Jeanne Bucher Gallery and then by Dina Verny who wrote her catalog raisonné.
This paintinf shows us a group of villagers coming out of the mass, giving alms to a beggar, the church lying in a country landscape where cows rest in a meadow overlooked by a village topped by a castle. Signed and dated 1926.Feel free to ask for photos or additional information by mail or phone
