The Artist, influenced by his friend Claude Monet, shows an intimate understanding of the subtleties of Impressionism and his personal sensitivity to the endless play of light in the variation of its vibrations and iridescence according to the time, the atmosphere, the seasons and the places. I could not say it better than the Bénézit! Our painting is a remarkable example where this church emerges gently from a mist rising from the river below, probably the Seine that he often painted.
