Gothic keystone
Gothic keystone
Carved stone 26 X 25 X 21 cm. Although Gothic probably from the second half of the 13th century, this keystone with four ridges in spear bars, is still archaic with Romanesque reminiscences which would therefore indicate a provenance outside the major architectural centers of the time, which would corroborate its relative small size. Its peculiarity of being drilled at the top indicates that it must certainly have carried a wrought iron hook from which a chandelier was suspended, perhaps by means of a pulley. Weight: heavy! … Grouped in my photos under the generic term “garden pebbles”, I am going to put on sale these days a series of sculpted stones from different eras. Taking into account the material, no shipping: collection on site in Pau by your transporter by appointment, possibility of delivery on a Pau-Biarritz axis. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or phone.
