Empire painting “Lady back”
French school 1805-1810
Oil on paper, mounted on canvas on a frame 26 X 13 cm later and framed by a beautiful golden rod a little rugged 36 X 23 cm.
This beautiful painting is almost enigmatic: this very elongated treatment of the dress seen from behind, the very tall figure, the intriguing face, all this contributes to a strange seduction of which one never tires.
From a prestigious Pau collection.
